Cohevi Roasted Artichoke Halves, imported from Spain. The artichoke is the bud of the Cynara Scolymus
plant, originally wild in the Mediterranean. An important ingredient in Spanish cuisine, artichokes are
served with salads, meat and fish. These artichokes are marinated and packed in oil.
According to myth, an enamored Zeus elevated a young woman from mortal to goddess. Longing for
home, she secretly left Mount Olympus to visit the mortal world. Upon her return, Zeus, enraged by
perceived treachery, flung her back to become the first artichoke. An interesting punishment.
